10 December 2009: Happy Human Rights Day!

If you were listening to BBC Radio 1 last night, you might have heard the very first play of the brand new Portishead track, "Chase the Tear".

Lucky us – Portishead have written this track especially for Amnesty, and donated all the rights.

Released for Human Rights Day, you can download the single now – all earnings will go towards our work.

Monthly Meetings

The Bristol Amnesty group meet at the Youth Hostel in the centre of town (near to the Arnolfini). We meet every third Monday of the month - come along and get involved! The next meeting is on Monday 21 December. This month we are having a talk about the greetings card campaign from the Amensty UK campaign co-ordinator Ruth Dawson. The campaign is very successful and provide much needed support in solidarity for many victims of human rights violations around the world. We will also be looking at how we can take the newly voted group campaign (Demand Dignity) out onto the streets of Bristol to raise awareness of the key issues around this campaign.

If you are coming along for the first time, get there around 7pm for an informal welcome, a drink and a bit of a chat. The main meeting starts at 7.30pm.
